A workshop titled “Advances in African pegmatite exploration”, organised by the EU research Project GREENPEG will happen on 14 May in Windhoek, Namibia. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Geological Survey of Namibia, the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, German Cooperation, and Gecko Exploration.

The one-day conference on 14 May will contain 2 sessions to explore Namibia’s potential enhancement of raw material partnership with the EU and the role of the GREENPEG in this endeavour:

  • Session 1: Setting The Scene and Advances by GREENPEG Project
  • Session 2: Raw Materials Territorial Mapping and Exploration Projects by Industry.

Both sessions will feature theoretical lectures, and the time for networking and discussions. Overall, the programme focuses on advances in the exploration of pegmatites through research and experiences from past and ongoing pegmatite exploration and mining throughout Africa.

Additionally, attendees will have the optional opportunity to visit the renowned Erongo Mountain pegmatite outcrops and exploration activities on 15-16 May. Check out the detailed agenda here.
