EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) is a not-for-profit association representing the Geological Surveys of Europe. Comprising 37 member organisations, EGS works to provide expert, balanced, and practical geoscience data and advice to guide European policies and address key societal challenges. At the heart of the collaboration between the Geological Surveys of Europe is an ambition – to establish a sustainable Geological Service for Europe, serving European society through, and beyond, the green transition.

EuroGeoSurveys members, the National Geological Surveys, are public sector institutions carrying out operations and research in the field of geosciences. These organisations have a long tradition, in many cases more than 100 years, in collecting data, preparing information and conducting research focused on their national subsurface.

EGS Mission: To enable the sustainable and responsible use of the Earth’s subsurface environment and resources.

EGS Vision: To establish the Geological Service for Europe as the scientific reference partner of the EU, providing essential knowledge of the Earth’s subsurface environment and resources as the foundation of a sustainable future for Europe.

EGS stands committed to advancing geoscience research and innovation, fostering collaboration, and providing invaluable scientific expertise to shape a sustainable future for Europe.
